Suede Sunday

Happy Monday lovelies!

I hope you all had a wonderful and exciting weekend! I spent Saturday and Sunday with my boyfriend, which is always the nicest thing. We live about thirty minutes away from each other and really only get to see each other on weekends. When we get to spend time together we love to cook dinner, introduce each other to new music we're obsessing over and watch movies/tv shows we enjoy. He's an artist and I adore coming over and seeing the paintings he's been working on throughout weekdays. Our time is also spent playing with the adorable rottweiler he's sitting for his family friend (she's roaming around Southeast Asia for the month)

Yesterday we went out to lunch with his parents. The place is called D's Six Pax & Dogz. It's a bar restaurant that has delicious American food (hotdogs, hamburgers, hot wings, etc) and a wide variety of beer. It was so nice getting to catch up with his family and discuss his dad's latest oil painting and his sister's fast-approaching wedding

This is the outfit I decided to wear out to lunch. This grey dress from H&M has become my new favorite item in my closet! I just love how simple it is, in which case I can dress it up or keep it casual. I recently received these gorgeous green suede boots in the mail and I've been wearing them consistently for the past two weeks. These cute booties add the perfect pop to any fall outfit. I decided to tie the look together with a two-tone belt, black stockings, floral scarf, leather jacket, and these emerald suede boots!

It always takes me awhile to get back into my 9-5 weekly routine after having an incredible weekend.  I'm chugging coffee this morning to perk up. Moreover, my boss is in Puerto Rico this whole week and things will be pretty slow here. I'll need all the caffeine I can possibly get...

Thanks for checking in! I sincerely hope you're all indulging in this beautiful weather so far.

About Me

Hi, my name is Maddie. I'm a recent graduate from Point Park University in Pittsburgh. I majored in Global Cultural Studies. I have a passion for learning about other cultures, understanding the complexities of the world, and traveling. My other passion is, of course, fashion. I am by no means a fashion expert but I stay true to my own sense of style. I hope I am able to inspire you and show you some ideas you can apply to your own wardrobe.

I would eventually LOVE to go back to school and get my masters in fashion styling or fashion merchandising. I've wanted to start a blog for awhile to showcase my personal style. Blogs that have inspired me are ZoellaLEHAPPYViva LuxurySeams for DesireCHICMUSE, and so many others!

I am constantly shopping and may have a bit of a shoe addiction. My style ranges from classic to funky. My mom used to always tell me that whenever I would walk into a store I would always pick out the "ugliest" shoes. Today that has worked in my favor. A lot of the clothes in my closet have been pieces I've picked up from flea markets or secondhand stores. I get so thrilled when I can find a piece that's totally unique or unconventional. Another wonderful thing about thrifting is getting these one of a kind items for super cheap.

My favorite places to shop are Goodwill, Salvation Army, H&M, Urban Outfitters, LuLus, etc. My favorite thing about fashion is being creative and expressing personal style. I feel like it's important to be playful and always experiment with piecing together an outfit.

Aside from shopping, I enjoy:
  • playing with my pug
  • painting
  • watching foreign films (mostly french and czech new wave)
  • listening to shoegaze
  • visiting my best friend in NYC
  • playing games with my nephews
I hope you all enjoy my blog and I'm able to offer you some inspiration.
