Happy Wednesday!

I cannot believe it's already April!! I'm really looking forward to this month...I'm going to concerts and booking my one-way flight to LA this week and possibly a mini trip to Florida to visit my uncle! I'm honestly just very stoked about starting new adventures.

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous! It was 70 degrees and the sun was shining. I'm so excited that it's getting warmer here and I can finally start wearing all of my beautiful vintage dresses! I bought this one five years ago at a Goodwill in my hometown. I love the dark blue color and the lovely flower designs. I'm also obsessed with the length of this dress, it's kind of asymmetrical (a result of me putting it through the dryer...yikes). Although it was really warm yesterday, it was insanely windy and I was happy I didn't have to hold down my dress the entire day to avoid mooning all of Pittsburgh. I think my favorite thing about this dress is how I feel when I'm wearing it. I feel so elegant and feminine whenever I slip this beauty on.

Wild Horses

Hey there!!

Happy weekend to all of you!! It's a beautiful weekend so far, meaning the sun is shining and I have fun plans for tonight!

Since the weather was more mild this afternoon I decided to throw this outfit together. I'm not sure why but I usually tend to gravitate towards earth tones when I shop for clothes. I love wearing greens and browns, I guess it's because I feel like those colors always compliment my hair and the color of my eyes. Do my fellow redheads agree?

I love this outfit mostly because of my jacket! I love the fabric, colors, and the horses that run across it! I bought this jacket a few years ago at a Goodwill. I'm noticing that I tend to get most of my jackets from secondhand stores. My shirt is from Gap and the skirt is Forever 21. This skirt is perfect because it's neutral, basic, and comfortable...it goes with nearly everything! I threw on my thigh high burnt orange colored socks and these tan Hunter rain boots.

I'm starting to appreciate clutches more and more and I rediscovered this Dooney and Bourke Clutch I bought at a Goodwill in Arizona a few years ago. The mother of pearl ring was my Grandma's and the midi ring is from Urban Outfitters. My necklace was a very thoughtful Christmas gift from my boss. I work at an English school for international students. Before the holidays rolled around my boss asked me what country I would love to visit and I told her Iceland (I mean who wouldn't want to go to Iceland?? There's Bjork, Sigur Ros, volcanoes, hot springs, etc!). Consequently, the necklace is a silver chain with an Icelandic coin. And aren't my nails amazing?! My dear friend Jade is so incredibly kind. She usually comes over once a week to hangout and paint nails and I always look forward to it.

I'm going to an event called Second Saturdays in Pittsburgh tonight to watch some improv performances, hangout with friends and drink wine!

Working Wardrobe

Hey hey!

Happy February and I hope everyone is having a lovely start to the week! I feel like this month is going to be a great one. Last month was the beginning of a lot of amazing changes happening in my life. I've been trying to be more active/healthy, save more money, and my boyfriend moved in with me! I started a new book called The Russian Debutante's Handbook by Gary Shteyngart and it's HILARIOUS!! I'm only nine chapters into it but I absolutely love it so far. If you're looking for a great read you should definitely pick it up.

I've also been trying to be more productive with blogging and I'm excited to say that I've been featured in For Elyse's favorite fashion blogger roundup! There are some other incredible fashion bloggers featured on the post so you should check them out!!

These photos were taken by Ian. We decided to shoot inside on a snow day and got a little adventurous...I mean just look at that swan chair hahaa. I work in an office and most of my wardrobe consists of blazers and button-ups. I decided to make this outfit more fun by adding a shorter skirt with this really cute Aztec design. The necklace is a handmade piece from a flea market I visited in NYC this past summer. The clutch is a Saks Fifth Avenue bag I bought from a Goodwill in Arizona a few years ago. I finished up the look with these rad T strap heels from Nine West.

Halloween à la Pierrot le Fou

Hey Folks!

Yesterday was Halloween, my all time favorite holiday! There's just something so nostalgic about Halloween to me: the smell of leaves in the air, costume makeup, watching scary movies, eating caramel apples. It also means that other exciting holidays are approaching!!

Halloween is also one of my favorites because I have always loved dressing up in costumes!! I was one of those little girls growing up who would always dress up in my mom's clothes or wear plastic princess heels until they fell apart. I also model occasionally (mostly for clothing boutiques in the Pittsburgh area) and the best part is having my hair, makeup, and clothes look completely different than usual. 

This year my boyfriend and I decided to go as characters from one of our favorite French New Wave films: Pierrot le Fou. This film came out in 1965 and was directed by the legendary Jean-Luc Godard. It stars the stunningly beautiful Anna Karina and Jean-Paul Belmondo. Pierrot (Jean-Paul Belmondo) ditches his unhappy marriage and bourgeois lifestyle to be with his old flame Marianne (Anna Karina). They go on many crime sprees and eventually their relationship becomes strained. This film is just absolutely breathtaking, sweet, sad, and humorous. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend that you watch it!!
