DIY Halloween X Asos

Happy Thursday Folks!

Can you believe how fast October has gone by?? Earlier this month I was contacted by ASOS to do a collaboration for a DIY Halloween costume. I couldn't have been more ecstatic!! I am always lusting after everything on their site and pounced at the opportunity!  In case you're unfamiliar, ASOS is the UK's largest independent online fashion and beauty retailer and offers over 60,000 branded and own label products across womenswear and menswear. So I browsed through their Halloween items and accessories and fell in love with this Moon Hair Crown. It's not exactly spooky but I was gifted these stunning velvet pants by Gypsy Stardust from {E}nter and thought it would look incredible together as a kind of bohemian witch costume.

I don't know about you but I never go as a witch for Halloween because those pointy hats are irritatingly inconvenient, am I right? I'm really excited with how it turned out! I think there's an interesting story being told with the photography (done by the incredible Patrick Ortiz)! This has been my favorite shoot so far, I love how creative I was able to be and working with such an influential brand like ASOS and someone as talented as Patrick has made me more eager for future projects!

Thank you so much ASOS for the beautiful crown and the opportunity! Please please please do yourself a favor and check out their site as well as their DIY Halloween page!

I hope you all have an amazing and festive weekend!

Maddie

Others Follow Fall 2014

Hi there!

Holla Holla it's Friday!! Happy weekend to all of you! Just wanted to do a quick post on the Others Follow Clothing Instagram takeover I did a few weeks ago. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to explore Los Angeles and take some snaps of my adventures and post it on their IG for the weekend!

They sent me this amazing Walker sweater in the color "pebble" and it's so perfect for transitioning into fall from summer. Although you can't see it in these pictures because I decided to tuck it in to shorts, my favorite part about the sweater is the slit in the back....I think it's a really cute/subtle detail to something casual. I'm obsessed with their entire Fall/Holiday collection, they have a fantastic balance of knits, long sleeved tops, dresses, and funky jackets!

You can checkout Others Follow's Fall 2014 lookbook here!

Enjoy your weekend fellow fashionistas! And as always, thank you so much for checking in!

Others Follow Clothing

Hey folks!

Last month a clothing brand called Others Follow reached out to me about sending me some gifted items from their summer line! They're a clothing brand for the girl who is wild at heart, nonconformist, and has an untamed passion for life! Others Follow is a fresh, young clothing line that embodies a fun sense of adventure and whimsy. Constantly inspired by the laid back California lifestyle, Others Follow focuses on ease and versatility, creating a line that is neither complicated nor exaggerated. They sent me some beautiful outfits and this gorgeous striped dress that reminds me of French Nouveau films! But I also think it's the perfect dress to wear during the 4th of July...it's just the right amount of patriotism without being too literal or garish.

The best part about this dress is (other than how obviously adorable it is) how well it fits! I love the high neck and how it flares out a little at the waist. And the belt comes attached but can easily be removed so you can always change up how you want to style the dress! You can find Others Follow  clothing on Tilly's and Lulu*s! Definitely check them out, they have AMAZING summer pieces. Thank you again Others Follow for the lovely gifts!

I took these photos with my good friend Katya McCoy a few days before I left Pittsburgh for California. I just can't get enough of her beautiful photography and I love working with her! I'm definitely going to miss our impromptu photo shoots. You can check out other shoots we've done together hereherehere, and here!

So I'm finally getting somewhat settled into my new place in LA and my best friend from home is coming into town tomorrow (4th of July) and staying for a week! Ahhhh I can't wait!! I already miss my friends in Pittsburgh so it'll be nice to have him here, go on adventures, and celebrate the holiday together! I have to work until the afternoon (ewwww) but afterwards we're heading to the Santa Monica Pier to watch fireworks, play on the beach, and go on some rides. What are your plans for the 4th??

Thanks for checking in! If you're digging this dress then be sure to browse Others Follow's Lookbook and check out Katya's Photography!

Adore Me Bikini

Hey there,

About a month ago Dylana from Color Me Nana contacted me about doing another collaboration with Adore Me, a New York based lingerie company that offers affordable lingerie sets, swimwear, and corsets for $39.95-$59.99. Along with their affordable prices, they offer styles for all body types! I LOVED my Athena lingerie set I wore in my last Adore Me blog post and couldn't be more thrilled when they wanted to send me this stunning Jamie bikini. I was drawn to the bandeau top and electric lime green color...it also tends to sort of appear as a neon seafoam color in different light. The bust has this dazzling brooch that glistens in the sunlight. I'm elated I've finally had a chance to wear this bikini after a month of fruitlessly anticipating sunshine and temperate weather back home. Adore Me has so many more amazing swimsuit styles and colors on their site, definitely check them out!

So today is my last full day in Florida and I'll be leaving to go back to Pittsburgh tomorrow. This trip has been really refreshing/stressful/exciting/relaxing for me. I feel incredibly happy and grateful that I've been able to spend a lot of time with my relatives here in FL and share drinks, new experiences, and laughter. We went to a few clubs, had some beautiful days at the beach, ate the most delicious food, and visited the Dali Museum (coincidentally showcasing an Andy Warhol exhibit...hello again Pittsburgh). And thank you Uncle Paul and Uncle Chet for taking my photos throughout this trip! I've been away from Pennsylvania for 7 days but things back home managed to drastically change for me while I was on this vacation hahaa. But I'm looking forward to going home and figuring it all out while spending my last month there enjoying it with my friends and family.

That's all for now...I hope you all have a beautiful Saturday. Thanks for stopping by! And thank you again Adore Me for the swimsuit! I feel like a mermaid wearing it <3

Carnival

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

It's currently snowing in Pittsburgh right now...but this past weekend was gorgeous!! It felt like summer. Every year Carnegie Mellon University has a carnival on their campus and I thought it was the perfect event to wear this new Boardwalk Romper from Pin-up Darling. Pin-up Darling is an online fashion boutique that specializes in vintage inspired clothing. Their pieces are classic, fun, and flirty. Needless to say when they reached out to me about doing a sponsorship I was thrilled! There's really nothing I enjoy more than stunning vintage clothing, I mean more than half of my closet is full of thrifted and retro pieces.

What I love most about this romper is the highwaisted shorts with the bow belt! The bow gives it such a flirty and cute touch to the outfit and I love how it ties the look together. I'm also crazy about the top half of the romper....it's this gorgeous lace overlay with cute little wooden buttons. I can picture myself wearing this romper non-stop during the summer. I threw on a cardigan I thrifted from Avalon Exchange in case it got colder in the evening and my favorite pair of flatforms! I'm really excited with how this outfit turned out. I feel like Ann Margret in some of these photos haha.

If you're loving this romper you should definitely check out the rest of Pin-up Darling's website and peruse the rest of their collections!! I'm personally in love with most of the dresses, they remind me of what the women wear in Mad Men.

Thank you for checking in!

Maddie

Bib + Tuck & Alexander Wang

Hey Hey!

I was contacted recently by Casey Finigan, the Outreach and Closet Coordinator of Bib + Tuck
, "a curated community marketplace of shoppable personal closets," about doing a collaboration and being an influencer for their brand! Bib + Tuck is basically a really cool way to bring fashionistas together to buy and sell their clothes. The idea is genius...have you ever shared clothes with friends or your siblings growing up or gave away the clothes that didn't fit or you didn't use anymore? That's pretty much what Bib + Tuck reminds me of. So here's how it works: users can upload photos on the site of pieces the user wants to sell (bib) and peruse other closets published that they would like to buy (tuck). The site uses virtual dollars ("bucks") as currency. The best part is that once you sign up you already get 10 bucks!! Along with earning "bucks" users can also buy "bucks." All of the money stays virtual for now but they're coming out with a cash-out option next month! You can check out more about Bib + Tuck on Refinery 29 and Vogue!

All of the clothing is AMAZING! The items on the site range from designer vintage pieces to YSL to Jeffrey Campbell. I had such a hard time deciding what to tuck because I adored everything! I eventually tucked this gorgeous T by Alexander Wang maxi dress!! I usually wear a small and this dress is a medium so it's a little big on me. When I tied a belt around my waist and wore some platform heels it didn't matter that it was a medium. The dress itself is sooooo soft, comfortable, and body skimming. There's just something about maxi dresses (simple or outrageous) that make me feel so elegant and feminine when I wear them, I love it.

My idea for the styling and photo shoot was to do something rather ethereal and in the spirit of Spring time. I teamed up with my insaaanely talented friend Katya McCoy
for this shoot. Kat is such a brilliant photographer, I could stare at her images for hours....they're always just so breathtaking and innovative. She astonishes me every single time we shoot. Kat and I are also really great friends so I always manage to have the BEST time modeling for her. You can check out more of Katya's photography on her website and like her on Facebook! Thank you again for the gorgeous photos Kat!!

I'm so elated that Casey reached out to me and I was able to have this opportunity to be one of their brand influencers as well as becoming part of their amazing community! Thank you Casey and Bib + Tuck!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Thanks for checking in.

Maddie
